| I just received a 1984 SL-3 that has an MMK 8" chuck (HA6-8-46) but no grease gun, I have attempted to use a few diffrent grease guns but none will fit. Any one know were I can find the right one, besides calling Japan. Thank you |

| Yo Bro! i gosta an '85 SL-3H with a 12" gorilla.[been in my shop for @ 3+yrs.] I called a compad're who has the same monster he bought new "back in the day" and called him with the same lube question. . . . His reply was "I never greased it'. . . I use a high Moly grease and the gun is right there, 8 hrs. if you go over a days work. I'll look at the brand tomorrow and get back to you. . . . Bueno' |

| Take the chuck apart and clean it and hand grease it first. Check for wear and sloppy T-slots inside. Lathe chucks should be changed every 5-10 years with new ones. I've seen major damage and even death from old worn out chucks. People buy new mill vises all the time, but never think about lathe chucks. A 20lb part at 2500RPM instantly becomes a missile when launched. |
