I understand this is a lathe forum but i couldn't find a Mori mill forum. Has anyone replaced the Z Axis thrust bearings on one of these mills? Is there anything special to worry about? Setting the preload or anything else that might be tricky. From what I can see it looks pretty easy support the head from underneath remove the servo motor and housing pull off the bearing housing and change the bearings. I just wanted some insight before i tear into my machine don't want to trash $500 worth of bearings. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tim Precision Performance Hudson Fl |
