Mori ZL15MC Lathe

Need some help. We just purchased a Mori ZL15MC lathe and are having trouble with the sub-spindle. Doesn't seem to want to turn on for some reason. Checked to make sure collet is clamped but still get nothing. Could anyone help with a sample program to input that will use the sub-spindle?
Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Thank you.

Looking at the Installation Manual It says an Fanuc F11TT-A Or F11TT-F.

Then in The Operation Manual it says Applicable Control Unit is Fanuc MF-D6

so a late 80's/early 90's machine? Fanuc 11-TT
If you have FAPT it's TT-F
but I think the MF-D6 is a 16T

Is your control a bit like this....

if yes it's definitely not a Fanuc 11. Most likely Fanuc 16.

In any case the sub spindle codes are Mori-specific

Did you try M203/M204? That works for later controls.

If you have the manual it should be in there? The ladder manual usually has a list of M-codes.

What color is the machine? Your mfd6 is a 16tt control, but your saying an 11? And sub would be a smc machine. Either way the m203 m204 should work, however the very early machines used a fuji frenic live tool drive, that does change things a slight bit. Some of the early machines you had to physically switch to head 2 on the op panel to command the sub spindle.

Thanks for the help. The controler is very similar to the one shown in the pic ecept that it has controls for the C-axis along the top panel that is accross the top. Have tried the M203 and M204 commands but gotten nothing.
Know that mori machines have elaborate safety features. Am wondering in maybe one of the safety switches are triggered on that spindle however if that is the case why would the main spindle work.

Hmmm hang on.....

if the green machine pictured is your machine there is no sub spindle. it'd be impossible for that machine to have a 2nd chuck.
If it does have a 2nd chuck please post a couple of pics

Are you sure you don't mean how to enable the live tooling?

if yes try this.....

M45 (C axis connection, M46 is cancel.... usually C axis has to be engaged to use live tooling)
G97 S100 M13 (M13 live tool rotate CW, M14 is CCW, M5 is stop)
