Need Help!- 10TF option parameter locked

Hi all
I have happened to come across some handy information to expand my memory on my Mori seiki AL-2 lathe with a 10TF control on it. So I go into MDI and change setting 8000 bit 0 (PWE) to 1 and then go into service and select the parameter I want to change (inp. no) 9110 and it takes me to that parameter which is all so far so good. When I try and enter a new string of characters to update this parameter I get a little message in the bottom left corner of the screen saying 'parameter locked' . Crap! Any one know how to get past this?

Can't enter them like that on a 10. You have to initialize the memory and do it ipl mode. Think you also need to re load all the parameters once you do it. Make sure you have all parameters backed up. You can brick things if you call more memory on option parameters than you have available bubble memory, and have to start from scratch.

the parameter you are attempting to change is the option PARAM locked by the MTB (Machine tool Builder )So it gives the ALARM = PARAMETER LOCKED It contains lots of Information such as : param no 9110 (Fanuc 10 ) Details are as :9110
