I programmed/operated twin turret Mori's for 15 years. Not ZT but virtually the same thing mechanically just with pre-MAPPS controls (15TT/16TT). But I also run Mori's with MAPPS controls so I have seen most of it and can answer most questions relating to single and twin turret Mori's setup and programming

Your statement is a little bit general. There are billions of ideas and programming tips out there. Do you want a problem solved or are you going to solve all of our problems?

I have an idea that you should not write a program to causes the cutting tool to contact the check jaws in a violent manner.

Your turn.

LOL

how about we stick to constructive tips. there is plenty of useless info on the net already
plus if you look on these forums there are 1000's of posts where there is no response or useless information. then there are posts where the OP never came back here to follow up a question. possibly because someone scared him off

punchpressman: don't worry, txcncman won't hurt you as long as you come back here and follow-up (otherwise he'll chew you up and spit out meatless dry bones)

so the ball is still in your court. ask a question or make a statement that requires a specific response

Hello fella's, I have been operating a ZT1500 for about 4yr's or so now and i really could have used you guys with experience to answer questions when i first started. I was left with a brand new machine and very little training. It is only now i am starting to grasp what i am doing and why i have to do it. Most of my programing is done using the capps programing for the turning parts and manual editing for milling operations, as we do a lot of mass production work there is not a great deal of variation in the type of machining performed. But at least hopefully, i finally have somewhere to find answers for any future questions.

For one thing, I will recommend a lot of "soft" machinable jaws. You can hardly ever have too many.
