I dont think you can run it from USB, but you can put quite large programs in to the mapps memory and run from there. Contact your local Mori guys, they should be able to get you the how to. it is really quite easy. Think std memory on the mapps was 10MB.

I talked to Mori and the guy said i needed to load the program in the user area and run it from there but when i load the program it tries to put it in NC memory and it cant because its too big. He also said i needed to switch to tape. i still cant figure it out. He said it was in the book but that's like finding a needle in a hay stack.

In one of the setting pages on Mapps, it says NC memory or Maps I believe on the DNC line. it's pretty visible when you see it. Tape mode is just the button next to auto/edit/mdi on the op panel. We use it all the time here (not me, I only really fix them) but we also bought the 1 GB upgrade on the mapps machines. The guys say it runs just like it does when loading it to the machine memory. I also don't think they had to be in tape mode, I'll run out there and see. Do you have Maps 3 (dark gray bezel around the screen) or Maps 4 ( ivory bezel )?

ours is dark gray. I see what you are talking about on the screen but how do you switch it so you can run the program from the user area. The first problem is when you load a program it loads it into the NC memory first. I need to know how to load it into the user area first and then make the switch and run it from there.
