Need Help!- Hitachi Seiki HT-20SII buying advice

Hello everyone, my name is John. I've lurked for quite some time on this forum learning.

Finally after long search for right machine, approval from better half and enough time spent reading everyone's opinions, it would be nice to make decision on Not bad condition from pictures 1989 Hitachi Seiki HT-20SII Multi Controller machine. It has Tool presetter, Coolant, Chip Coveyer, Tail stock, 8.5" hydraulic chuck, 10 tool turret for approx. $7,000 Ca. and cutting hours approx. 25,000 ( until confirmed)

I'm a hobby manual machinist, by trade 1 year away from Mechanical Engineering Diploma. I am friends with my hands and my head, so I can address many problems adequately.

1. Is there a way, when I go to see machine to find out how many cutting, tool change and up time hours it has? Sequence of buttons? Even if controller has been reset.

2. Is it worth it for mechanically/electrically inclined person to spend money on this machine?

3. Lastly knowing that machine is discontinued, however if it's Yaskawa components and possibly be able to service it by my self, Should I By it?

Personaly, i think those are Cr*p. A lot or most had Yasnac controls, good luck getting service. Hitachi went bankrupt, Mori Seiki was asked to take over from the bank. Parts can be tough to get. Used to get calls on those for very strange problems. 7K is way on the high side IMO, i would try to find something like an Okuma LB15 , or even a little newer like an Okuma Cadet, either one of those I see regularly for 5-8K.

Thanks for your advice. Here in Canada, Alberta for as long as I was looking I could not find a good used Okuma or Mori and if I import from states rigging and transport cost is outrageous.

Machine is equipped with Yasnac LX3 controller, that means all electrics and motors are Yaskawa, so parts are available. (Correct me if I am wrong)

If machine checks out good, is it worth $4500 Ca?

How are these machines for longevity and accuracy?

IMO yaskawa/yasnac is not very good at stocking old parts. Once seimens bought them out, it got much much worse. 4500 wouldn't be bad, the problem is some of those machines ran ok, some didn't. Can you get any kind of warranty, like guaranteed to run once it hits your floor?

Honestly, I don't think there would be any guarantee.

Well, I am stomped again. Where could a guy find nice Okuma or Mori with low hours in $10,000 price range?

Unfortunately, here we pretty much got nothing, so it's newerrr HAAS(trying to avoid) or used Jap. machine from states. I guess I have to wait, again.
