| What Fanuc ? I would assume it's a 10T based on the H, and yes they were good, but very old now. Parts are still available from Mori. The only problem I used to run in to with those is the cable for the turret is old and brittle now, have replace several in the last couple years. Just never buy the Yasnac version. |

| UTT, Not sure why Fanuc would be any more desirable than Yasnac? I have four Mori/Yasnacs. I dont think parts and service are easier on either for control or drive issues. Mechanical parts are still available though Ellison 2 SL-1s 1 SL-2 1 Sl-3...all running off a phase converter as long as the power taps are correctly set and ya dont beat the crap out of these machines, They last decades. ErnieD, If the machine demonstrates it functions and the price is reasonable, you have a good reliable machine One drawback on SL-2, it does not have a tail stock, they were meant as first operation machines. Most have 2.6" usable though the spindle Dont let someone sell you they have 3 inch though spindles, they do if ya pull out the drawbar, but they are useless then I personally would not recommend buying a machine if it has a 5T control, 6T Ok 5T very un user freindly Wayne

| Because Yasnac is no longer Yasnac. Most areas don't have service, parts are hard to get, and most of the Mori service guys don't know Yasnac any longer. If you've been able to find parts for yasnac, you've been lucky. I know a whole lot of SLs with spindle drive issues that have been retrofitted or just collecting rust. Fanuc parts are everywhere, being a H model, it's going to be slightly newer, so probably a 6 or 10. |

| I agree on the spindle drive issue, That is the weakness of those 80s vintage Mori/Yasnacs But when I had the message board up, Most problems reported were Fanuc related That is one of the reasons I took the board down,(Pesky spambots also) I dont know Fanucs well other than how to make them run, and I could not generate enough interest to get Fanuc tecks to participate
