    SL25B

My mori has passed through its RAM parity issues and will not show any alarms, but there is no movement when I try and zero the machine. I just got this machine and Mori and Fanuc have been awesome at helping, but they are getting stumped on this. Any advice on things to try?

I have a guess if that helps. Door interlock switch. Was probably turned of in the PMC parameters, and after your re-load it's back on. Or... turret index or turret not clamped. Is the TCL light on or flashing?

I am up for guesses or anything that could help. How do I check the door interlock or turret clamp. I am so close to getting this to fire up that I can almost taste it, and I appreciate the suggestion

The ERR light on the front of the machine is flashing, but the MRDY light is also on. Suggestions are very welcome!

If the error light is on, and there are no ex alarms, try to index the turret. It may need to be moved so the machine can re count it's current position.

I have tried to index the turret, but it does not move. I did not get parameters with the machine so mori sent me generic parameters, and as I said we got them input, butno movement is achieved. I can open and close the chuck and I can turn on the light and the chip conveyor, but the tailstock will not move in or out either. I used the parameter for programmable tailstock, but am unsure as to whether that could be the problem. When I power up, whatever mode I am in (MDI, jog, rapid, etc) shows up on the bottom of the screen with rset following it.

There are two tailstocks available. Programmable quill, and thats the standard. The other one was programmable tailstock spec. witch allowed you to control position of the actual body. If you put programmable type, the machine will not allow you to do anything, since it's looking for tailstock clamp witch wouldn't be there if its a standard spec.

    Which tailstock

The tailstock I have has a steel dog on the front of it that you can tip and have the turret drag it to the proper location. Which one would this be? Programmable or not?

    Switch not changing modes

The change of parameters doesn't seem to change things. The dial which toggles from edit to mdi to jog rapid and zero return doesn't seem to be picked up by the control. The bottom of the screen perpetually says MDI ****RSET****

In a lot of ways it is almost as if the buttons on the control are unresponsive. The turret clamp is on but doesn't allow to change tools , the dial pulse generator light doesn't come on when in dial mode, and the dial doesn't do anything.

    Any thoughts?

The reset is the give away. The machine is not ready, and still in reset mode. Most likely cause is either a barfeed problem if equipped, a door switch, or a parameter for the above. Can also just be a wrong PMC parameter for panel type, or even a timer.

    possibilities

These are all possibilities, just use a multimeter to gauge as to if all the limit switches are working, or are there other method of checking, as I mentioned there are no alarms coming up, and the only parameters I have are some generic ones that Ellison Technologies had on hand.
