i am not sure on the mitsubishi controls but on the newer mapps 3 with fanuc controls the password is a portion of the ladder drawing number. I have been able to get into some of the duravertical machines this way.
I am working on a I/O problem on one of our Mori NL's. I am wanting to edit the ladder to change an output address but after stopping the PLC and turning NC edit I am still getting a "Data Protected" note at the bottom of the ladder screen when I try to do a "write" command. I am guessing that the ladder on the newer controls is protected someway other then our older Mits based machines. We have several and I have been able to change or edit the ladder on those using this same process. Does anyone know if there is any way to do an edit on these newer machines?

I have done the same on several of the older machines, but the newer machines have been locked out. You can not get the edit function to come up on either the Fanuc or Mits. I think they have gotten them locked out in the factory.
Yes Mori locks out the ladders on all new machines. It is impossible to edit unless you know the password.
are you talking about forcing an output from the I/O check page ?
here is an example procedure for forcing an input on the M300 control, dont know if it will help but it might.
Forcing Axis Jog Directional Keys for Referencing
X135
X134 X133
X136
Select “CHECK”
Select “PLC/IF”
In “DEVICE” Field write key address (e.g. X133)
Press “FWD” once
In “DATA” Field write 1
Press “FWD” once
In “MODE” Field write 2
Example DEVICE DATA MODE
( X133 ) ( 1 ) ( 2 )
Press “INPUT”
The relevant key input will now be forced high.
It is the same for forcing addresses for this control but the addressing is very different from the 300 control.
