Price on used Mori!

I just received a quote for a 2002 Mori-Seiki SL-303A/1500 with a 10 inch chuck. $170,000!?!?!? Needless to say, I was quite shocked. Didn't think they were that much new in 2002.

I'll be talking to a dealer on Monday but does anyone know roughly what a new NL-3000 would cost & how much the C axis & live tooling option costs? I'm looking for a ballpark figure on what it costs to get a machine in the door with chip conveyor, chuck & an assortment of tool holders. No sub spindle or Y axis.

I would think the dealer can give you those prices pretty quickly. That way you can have a list of all of the options and what also comes standard on the machine.

Not having ever priced one myself, I am not going to be any help for you...

Re the 170k for a 2002...wow. It is a pretty good size machine, but seems pretty high in these economic times...You may be better off with going new at that rate.

WAAAAYYYY too high. I would think a new NL3000M would be not too much more if any. The yen is 80 to a dollar right now, so a price increase will be coming down the road here very soon.
