I am moonlighting at a shop that needs some extra help and convenietly I need some extra money (if there is such a thing).
They have two beautiful new Mori CL's. Both are equipped with the Renishaw probe. And strangely they refuse to use the touch probe. The problem is that the LNS bar feeders use the common workshift offset for the top-cut posit and they don't want to incorporate the shift for the presetter into that offset.
I don't mind going old school and touching off stock but it is slow, inaccurate and when you swap jobs you have to go in and shift alot of tools. If they are touched off the presetter then you change the one offset and more or less press go and stand back.
I have alot of options to make it easy but I need an accepted "standardized" method.
is there a work offset page?
on my nl we use g54 series of of offsets
then all you have to do is call a tool, touch off, and measure
i actually note the work offsets in the program then punch them in when i reset the job
