Need Help!- Hitachi HT23SII with LNS barfeed programming question

We have a Hitachi HT23SII lathe with an LNS Hydrobar 6.65HS-5.2 barfeed.

Is there an M-code needed to “activate” the barfeed? Does anyone have a list of M/G codes for the Hitachi Seiki (Seicos control) to use with the LNS Hydrobar?

The barfeed works fine in Manual mode, pump turns on, pushes the bar through no problem. But when we move the barfeed switch to Auto and start a program on the lathe, the pump doesn’t turn on, waiting to push the bard forward at the next chuck open command. My understanding was that this is a "dummy" feeder and is activated as soon as a program is executed on the lathe. I thought the hydraulic pump was always on as long as the program is running and it simply waits for the chuck to open and advances the bar until the bar bumps into the turret.

It all depends on how the machine was interfaced to the barfeeder. Do you know the details of how it was interfaced? There are different conditions under which the barfeeder will run in auto mode (e.g.- only with the spindle turning, only with the lathe in auto mode, only with the chuck closed, etc.). Again, it depends on how it was wired.
