I have an 86 mori sl2h with lx2 control. If Im running a part for the first time I usually use single block and dry run to set the feed speed. Every now an then if Im running a super slow feed in dry run like .0001 ipr or less, I get an OT over temp alarm in X. I can always restart and run at a normal cutting speed right away. I can do all day runs of parts when operating at normal feeds. Ive cleaned the x servo encoder and checked the brushes and dont have any other problems with the machine. It looks like the servo motor was replaced at some point before I bought the machine as its obviously newer than the rest of the machine. I also checked the servo board with a high resolution non contact fluke temp meter and dont see any warm parts. It looks like there are two pots on the servo board to adjust for overtemp sensitivity. Anyone ever adjust one of these yasnac amps? Im wondering if when the servo motor was replaced, it was not adjusted properly, or perhaps its operating characteristics have changed as its getting broken in. |

| Couple of things to try First check to see if taps are correctly set for your shop voltage Does the drive sound smooth or erratic? Maybe swap encoders to see if problem follows to other axis I would try those before fiddling with trim pots on drive boards Wayne
