Question NL 3000 MSX 850III-Help an Iowa Redneck again!

Hello Machinist Gods,

I am training to run a Mori Seiki NL3000 MSX 850III controls, and I was wondering if there is any place I can download a free copy of the Operators Manuals/and any other manuals that I could use to operate and understand this machine better. I am working for a large production company that does not have very indepth training on running the machines they put you on! lol! And I have learned that the operator training you does not have much more than a set up proceedure for that certain part, and alot of prayers that nothing is wrong! From my experience with this-If I am going to work, and run a machine like this everyday for a period of time, I would like to know and learn everything I can! I hope that I can somehow help someone one day on this site like everyone has helped me, I am forever greatful for anything you can direct me to!

Thankx

Buy me a Beer?

Also see what you can get from Mori at the 1 800 # 1-877-ASK-MORI
They may have them in PDF possibly.

There should be a CD that came with the machine, although thats a Mitsubishi control, with the Maps interface. Our guys just got back from DTL (mori digital labs) from training, and they did give them a work book there for the CAPS side of the programming. The CAPS is actually pretty useful for programming, since it posts to G code like a cam system. I would try and contact the Mori dealer and explain to the applications dept your plight, they may be willing to help. The tool setting and operation is more like a Fanuc than a mits, thats what was so nice about the maps control. The straight Mits controls can be somewhat tough to learn.
