I am hoping someone can help me with a programing/ threading problem. I have a mori SL3H with LX-1 Control I am threading 5/8" 7 pitch acme thread which is a non standard thread. I have everything worked out fine except the termination point of the threads. In the picture you can see I end up with a razor sharp thread as the last thread. In the second picture is a sample part which I would prefer where the tread terminates as a full thread. How do I go about doing this?? |

| In the first example you can see a chamfer pullout at the end of the thread. Are you using a G76 cycle? If so, on the first G76 line you will have a P followed by number of values. Example G76 P010060. The first 01 represents the number of spring passes. The next 00 represents the chamfer amount pullout. 00 equals a straight pullout. To calculate the chamfer amount of pullout, multiply the two digit value(example 05 instead of 00), by the thread pitch. Example P010560=05 x .111= .0556 chamfer length. The 06 is the thread angle. The line would finish with Q0050 = minimum depth of pass, no decimal point . Then R0.0005 =depth of last thread pass. G76 P010560 Q0050 R0.0005 . For your part you may need to try 10 to replace the 00, for full thread pitch pullout amount. You may also need to decrease the z length by 1x thread pitch. |
