My previous CNC experience is with a Bridgeport/Heidi Mill, a haas vf-6, and a haas sl20.
My work just last week got a new NL2500, which I have been given the task of trying to figure out how to work. Well, tell a lie, I had 3 days with a Mori tech who showed me the basics.
I seem to be getting along just fine, but when programming a job today I encountered a little problem.
I was programming a job, that amongst other operations obviously, gets a 4mm hole cross drilled in the part in the main chuck, then it gets a flat put on it on the sub spindle at 90deg to the hole. No matter what angle I asked it to put the flat on, in the simulation it always comes out at the same angle as the hole.
Just to test something out, in the simulation I tried to do the flat and the hole both on the main spindle, and it came out fine, the way I wanted it, but as soon as I try to go back to hole main spindle / flat sub spindle they both come out at the same angle. Was tearing my hair out with this for about 2 hours and still got nowhere.
Don't suppose there's any helpful chaps around here that may have a clue as to what the hell is going on? Otherwise it's back to pulling my hair out again tomorrow morning.
Cheers
Neil.
Oh - another little problem I have... The Mori tech guy changed the colour of my sim graphics to Yellow, and I cant stand it, lol. Anyone know how to change it? I remember when he changed it there was a list along the bottom of the screen '0-red 1-blue 2-yellow 3-green' etc etc, but I'll be damned if I can find it again.

Looks like I'll just need to manually edit the g-code when I next encounter this one. The mori guy said it was happening because the software is also designed for a twin turret machine, and to add 180degrees to the angle value in CAPS, but this didn't work either. No matter what angle I ask it to do that hole on the sub, the machine posts it at C180.
Software bug it seems. And I'm still looking at yellow gfx. Forgot to ask mori how to change it when I was discussing the other problem, and I don't really want to call them specifically to ask how to change the colour of the gfx, lol.
