CNC Mill Horizontal Matsuura MC 400H Yasnac MX2

Dear Friends and helpers.

This is my first time post the thread on this site, please help if you can to fix the machine that we have below:

MACHINE NAME MAKE MODEL CONTROLLER YEAR SERIAL#
CNC Mill Horizontal Matsuura MC 400H Yasnac MX2 1986 86025285

it have a alarm# 05 (Lubrication error: Check Lub oil level and pressure).

We did check the oil level and it has plenty of oil, and don't know how to check the pressure.

Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Hello tphan,

Welcome to the CNCzone. I do not know how your machine exactly works so these are general comments.

Alot of the lube systems I see today are a timed released. The alarm would happen if a pressure switch was not made with in a said amout of time. Some of these pumps movre the oil when the pump motor is energized and other drive a cam with a spring loaded plunger. The cam will push the plunger up and then it pump the lube under spring pressure when the plunger returns. It might take 10 mins for the cam to turn 1 rev.

Does the machine consume oil?
If yes, the pump is working and you might have a broken lube line or bad pressure switch
If no, I'd check if power is going to the pump or you might have a faulty pump.

this happen to one of my lathes if your pump is a gear pump your pump could be getting sloppy i found if you mix a little STP oil treatment or use a little thicker oil to help with oil pressure but make sure you don't have a broken oil line 1st
this may get you by till you can get a new pump
