    Default Helical drilling using polar coordinate interpolation

    The lathe in question is Mori Seiki SL-303 with MSG-501 controller:

    We're trying to do helical drilling on the face of the workpiece using polar coordinate interpolation but it keeps causing "illegal axis plane"-alarm no matter what we do. Our program is something like this:

    ...
    G0 Z3.
    X0
    G112
    G1 X15. C0 F1000.
    Z1.
    G3 I-7.5 Z0 F100.
    I-7.5 Z-1.
    I-7.5 Z-2.
    I-7.5
    G1 Z1. F1000.
    G113
    G0 Z3.
    ...

    The plane selection G17/G18/G19 doesn't have any effect on the outcome... is this simply a feature of the contoller that you can not move more than 2 axis at the same time while polar interpolating (can this be changed from machine parameters) or what are we doing wrong?
