    Default Question

This question isn't for a Mori, but a cnc lathe none the less. Its is for a Nakamura-Tome TW20 to be exact, I just chose this thread bc there seemed to be more views happening here and the simple fact there wasn't a NT thread. So my question is, I am doing a face grooving operation and did the programming via ESPRIT2016. I had it using a G74 Canned Cycle and it wouldn't read it correctly and instead of taking the necessary .018 peck it was attempting full depth. I went back and turned the canned cycle option off and left the tool path alone and it is running fine. could this be an instance where the technology is more advance than the controller? (Fanuc 16-TT) or what could be the issue here?

The canned cycle looked like this....

    M9 G97
    G0 G18 G28 U0 W0
    N2 (GRIP 4004Y IC808)
    G40
    G99 T0202
    M8
    M41
    G97 S204 M3
    (GROOVING)
    G0 X3.6 Z.15
    X3.315
    Z.1
    G74 R0
    G74 X1.75 Z-.19 Q180 P803 F.002
    G0 X0
    Z0
    M9 G97
    G0 G18 G28 U0 W0
    M1
