Which dealer is it?
You do need the resistors
Thanks Group for your input on the Gecko G540 driver.
I've been looking at a lot of dealers selling the G540 and found one on E-bay (new). he states that he is offering the G540 with complete motor connector set of four 9-pin modules, a complete set of 1/4 watt voltage control resistors. he states absolutely needed and not supplied by Gecko.
How much additional parts and wiring am I expected to do?
Also looking at keeping the price down since I spent more than I thought on the first driver set. Is there a 2nd choice that you can recommend ?
Just looking for a heads up, no surprises , not having to go back out and buy additional parts and pieces, if you know what I mean.
Once again thanking you all for your support

The connectors come with the G540. Resistors cost about $1. You wire the resistors into the connectors, along with your motor wires.

Be sure to look at the GeckoDrive website. In particular go to this page of Application Notes and look at 'G540 Initial Setup Guide'. Also look at 'Stepper Wiring'. There's no guessing allowed in wiring. You either understand what you're doing or you don't. Gecko drives are extremely well documented. Take advantage of that and ask about what you don't feel you understand.

Hello Group:
The dealer I believe is Hubbard CNC Inc.
I wired my own G540 cables, and rather than individual resistors I used the EZ-G540 from Soigeneris. It is a DB9 connector/backshell with an integral potentiometer. Great product, and makes soldering easy too.
EZ-G540 - Set of 4
I bought the G540 from Keling, and had good service from them. I've purchased many other things from HubbardCNC and have always had fantastic service from them.

Great Info Group
I did not know about the EZ-G540, so with a set of these I don't have to wire my own resisters?
I will order the Gecko G540, the EZ-G540 and some cable wire.
Once again this group has pulled me out of trouble. Thanks
Jerrywi
