Newbie- Machinig MOLD MAX HH

Anyone had much experience with this type of material? I've been working with it for the last few days. Have also been working with a new tool in roughing of thes parts. VERY, impressive.

According to the manufacturer's site, MoldMAX HH is a copper/beryllium alloy.

As I recall, Beryllium is both toxic AND carcinogenic...be warned!

The tool being used is an Iscar EFF series carbide high feed end mill.

Yes this material is very toxic. Better to use a coolant than air blast. The dust is what is very dangerous, as in dry grinding.

From what I heard moldmax is the substitute for beryllium. Berylium is known to cause cancer.

From the first page of the website, MoldMAX LH, HH, and SC are all copper-beryllium alloys. MoldMAX XL and V do not contain beryllium.
