I am working on a new project, and I believe I will need to cast some parts. This is an attempt to copy the hub centre steering mechanism found on the BMW clever, among other obscure 3-wheeled vehicles. The mechanics are like this: Hub has a pivoting center, and the "axle" does not rotate with the wheel, it only pivots from this center. The wheel bearings fit outside this contraption, and the wheel then rotates around it. The problem that I have is this: How, after casting this part (parts) can I expect to mate up bearings to a cast part? It seems like the pivot bearing holes will be inaccessible to standard tools. Can anyone think of a way to get around this? |

| re:hub centre steering Great project. I'm working on a similar design for a two wheel car project. I'd like to use this type of front end also. Do you have any more details or drawings on this design? I'd like to work with you on a build able design. Tom |
