Im trying to find out the FORCE (LBS) / INCH on the dme spings.....or how to figure it out

I need two times the slide weight on preload...but I'm not sure how to figure that out, since there is no constant....

The amount of force is determined by the spring size. The catalog has listed the force per 1/10". How much does the slide way? 2X seems like alot of preload.

in my customer standards they say; spring preload force to greater then 2x slide weight.

and the slide weighs 70 lbs

I was looking at that row in chart, but i thought that the value would increase as the spring was being compressed.....

Have you figured out the springs to use yet? Have you considered hydraulics? Also sometimes I use a combination of springs and plungers to hold the slides. Could that be an option for you?
