Mold made out of Plastic

I'm a newbie, please excuse my lack of knowledge.

Is it possible to create a temporary injection mold out of plastic? If so, what material would be best?

If not, is it possible to create a pourable, silicone mold out of plastic?

My goal at the moment is to prototype a design out of silicone.

Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

This should head you in the right direction.

If you decide to try casting instead of injection try machining your mold out of polypropylene. It makes quality parts and doesn't require any mold release agent.
