Apprentice Mold Maker, Looking to step up my machine finish
Hey Guys,
I'm an apprentice mold maker doing work with vacuum forming and rotomold tooling. Our facility currently uses Milltronic machines. We have 3 machines with a 5000RPM max and one with a 8000RPM max. I know the ones with a 5000RPM max is a huge.....er.....hurdle. I use Surfcam for our 3D programming (.0004 surface tolerance, .003 stepover-in order to get the molds out of the machine in a decent time) But there seems to be quite a bit of tooling marks in the finish. I was thinking of adding a nylon bristle brush and doing a planar cut on the finished vacuum mold.
Does anyone else use this nylon brush trick? Or any other tricks to help cut down on hand polishing? Thanks!
Matt
