I just posted my injection molder on ebay for sale. It didn't come with a manual so I made a youtube video showing how it works. I was thinking this video might help people learning about DIY injection molding so I thought I would post it here in case anyone is interested.
I'm interested, have you made any rubber parts, or all hard plastic?
I've made some rubber parts. The game gripper is an 80 durometer tpe called dynaflex. The game gripper comes with hard plastic buttons or rubber buttons(out of the same mold ofcourse). I have some samples of other durometers of dynaflex I can include if you win the auction.
1" steel bars threaded on each end with 1/2" socket head cap screws with Wentworth threads. I lost one on those bolts and was not able to find a replacement. I was not confident I could make a replacement screw so I replaced the bar and tapped each end with 1/2-20 holes on each end.
In order to be safe you need to do a little math. An aluminum bar would certainty have striped out on you and the whole machine would come apart on you.
Any updates on a clone of Hyrum's machine? I just started educating myself on injection molding machines and really enjoyed Hyrum's video and experience. Right now I'll probably get started with a Medium Machinery injection molder, unless some of you good folks persuade me otherwise. The budget is tight so buying a professional machine would be a real stretch.
