    Removing Cross Slide Dial

I'm starting a CNC retrofit of my Speedway mini lathe. I began the process of stripping off all the unnecessary stuff, which went smoothly, till I came to the cross slide. I can't figure out how to get the indicator dial off to get to the screws that I assume are behind it. Doesn't this just pull off? Is there some trick I'm missing?

OK, I figured it out. I took a small, thin blade jeweler's screwdriver and tapped lightly between the dial and the back mount and it began to separate nicely. From there I could work it loose with progressively larger blades. It's just a darn good spring that hold that thing on!
