HF 7 x 10 spindle problems

I put the dial on the spindle and it's out like crazy, is it possible to adjust this?
even the spanner nut at the end is wobbly, hard to find info on this problem..

Ignore the spanner nuts (although some have complained about it being threaded crooked), they're only for pre-loading the bearings. The only thing that matters for a chuck is that the face of the spindle is flat and that the small register/spigot (the part that sticks out) is concentric. Those two surfaces are what the chuck mates with. And of course the MT3 taper should be concentric as well.

I put the dial on the face and it's out, so bad in fact you can see it while turning, it's only a month old or so, I could turn it down, what do you think?

If you think you have the bearings adjusted properly and there's nothing wrong with them you can try truing up the spindle. But I think it's hardened so it will be tough unless you have a tool-post grinder. HF warranty is 90 days. Take it back.

The whole spindle from end to end is on a bad wobble, not good....
