I've seen several posts where folks recommend leveling a lathe bed to minimize the flex and resulting lack of accuracy.
How exactly does one go about that? Perhaps more to the point.... how does one do that without buying a $100-$200 tool (Machinists level).
Can you get away with just using a regular old level? Maybe there are some other tricks folks can suggest? (I just figure there might be one of those good "Old timers" tricks, LOL.)
Also, what's the overall procedure... just make sure it's level side to side and back to front? I presume you use the ways to measure from?
