Questions about Lathe Collets

Hi,
I am thinking about converting my 7x10 to use collets...... (faster changing...) and i hae a couple questions

i am thinking i am going to buy this

and some 3c collets like these

now i have to make a drawbar to pull the collet into the collet adapter to grab the bar i am going to machine......

Now for 20 Questions
1. what is the thread count on the 3c collet
2. when i loosen the collet to change the material what are the chances the adapter is going to come out of the spindle instead of the collet coming out of the adapter...... (wondering if the collet will get stck in the adapter)
3. is there anyone that has used this adapter and as opinion on how they work......

i did see that and i thought about it...... but i am working on making a power drawbar and a bar feeder so i would have to remove the wheel and i dont know how easy that would be.....

Do you guys happen to know if there is any way to make R8 collets work in the HF 8x12 lathe?

Firestorm, I doubt it. The 8x12 is MT3, which is smaller than R8. You could maybe make one that stuck outside the chuck by 3 or 4 inches... but that would seem to defeat the point.
