If I ask a stupid question, please kindly ignore it ![]() I read the manual of the HF 7x12, and read the tutorail on littlemachineshop.com, they do not EXPLICITLY mention which tool bit size the lathe uses. But LMS does have product like item 1261 pack, which says 5/16" tool is compatible with HF 7x12, I just want to confirm it here before I order it. Also, for parting tool, I do not really see much choice, I only found LMS item 1551 parting tool holder. Otherwise, I found nothing else on other websites. Do you have any info about paring tool and its holder? thank you so much! |

| Good question! I'm 99.9% positive that it will take up to a 5/8" tool. As for the parting tool holder, that's about it unless you buy a parting tool with replaceable inserts. They are nice, but expensive! Have fun with the new lathe! Dale P. |

| Just abut anything will work. I usually buy the stuff from LMS and have been very happy with it. It cools the work and I have NOT had any problems with rust on the machines. You can use oil too, but it makes a mess and can smoke a bit when you run things hot. Dale P. |
