    The Little Machine Shop

I am restoring a craftsman 6" lathe. I ordered some parts from the little Machine shop. I ordered a Heavy duty live center for my lathe they sent a medium duty one. Then I ordered a quick change tool post that was suppose to fit correctly. The T nut was machined incorrectly . Also I ordered a new chuck with a adapter plate that was suppose to fit but it doesn't. I am posting pictures to show you just what they sent me.

The problem is the shipping. If I have to pay the shipping back I am going to be furious. This is their mess up not mine. Shipping is so high that it's more than most of the parts. I can't see why they would ship anything without checking first especially during this recession.. The live center was a blatant and intentional false advertising. They said heavy duty but that was a lie. I have been buying so much bad stuff lately that you can't trust anyone anymore. It is a big deal when its your money they have.

Post Little Machine Shop has great service and great products.

    Digitalmdj,

There is nothing false about how Little Machine Shop advertises.

You are unfairly attempting to smear a vendor that has provided hundreds of CNC Zone members with great service and great products.

You are way out of line.

I have pictures and part numbers. You cannot dispute that . You can clearly see the writing on the box. They did not make a mistake they knew what they were shipping. I wasn't what they advertised. Take a look at this picture. If this isn't proof I don't think you can read.

    Thumbs down

How can you make such a statement just because the box has the word "medium" printed on it?

What does a cardboard box have to do with the quality or performance of there parts?

Why don't you call them and ask for a refund instead of making up stories.

Maybe you should complain about the packaging!

We have recieved 3 thread reports from jalessi. (once will do in future)
As far as I can tell digitalmdj, has not violated any of CNCZones policies.
He is airing his greivances about a product service.
My only suggestion to digitalmdj, is to maybe correspond with the bussiness you are dealing with, a bit more, before you start slagging them off in a public forum.

Being pissed off if your getting screwed is one thing, and then complaining about it in a forum if it's taking weeks and weeks to get replacment products is understandable, but it doesn't sound like you've talked to LMS at all? DUDE there is no way in hell LMS would not make it right, why take the time to post crap here about a KNOWN and valued member store before even talking to them. I call them all the time and they pick up the phone, it would have taken you 10 seconds to rectifiy the problem.

Also MEDIUM duty and Heavy duty are terms in relation to what you're using, it's called LITTLE Machine Shop for a reason. Medium duty might be in reference to a 14x46 Logan lathe, but to a 9x20 or 7x14 it might be way heavy duty.

OK OK I just noticed the time you posted, they're not open, but come on ***** after you talk to them if they are screwing you.

I will have to use my gas to drive down and ship the stuff back. Then I have to have use my time which cost money then I have to spend my money to ship it back which I will never recover for something I didn't do. I have a right to be upset. These things we suppose to fit my mi chine and did not. this is their chuck and their adapter plate. To fix the problems I would have to hire a machinist and pay a minimum charge just to get it to work and they are not cheap if you can find one who will take the time to help you for such a small project. that is why we purchase the parts to not have to pay someone that kind of money . Yhe lathe should have been up and running this week but this will set me back a week. Clausing has all the parts for this old lathe in stock and they should be here today.

Or maybe a simple mistake. Or maybe the whole world is out to get you?

    LMS

I got no axe to grind here as I've never used or are likely to use LMS but tee nuts can be made to fit anything - slot depths vary - deal with it, just put them in the lathe and turn them down! The chuck adapter I assume is slightly oversized to allow truing to your spindle rotation - its not rocket science to fix - it don't need a skilled machinist to fix, if you can't do it yourself why the hell have you got it? The box labling is weird but an MT1 centre of any standard would be hard pressed to be described as h/duty! Take a chill pill dude!
