Did any one heard any thing about upgrade an Emco PC Turn 120. Normal pc to drive the Emco is an 486 with ISA-bus. A service man told me only the 125 can bee upgrade with an new pc. Why? Even today you can buy a new pc with ISA-bus or USB to ISA even some slot changer like PCI-ISA. Okey, I can buy an old pc but this is not very best idea. Old pc is always old. Buy an Emco as 120. Itīs a lot of money we are talking about. I canīt understand the problem. Is it the hardware or the bus frequency to high in new pc. The money of a new industry pc motherboard it is more expansive but this money is not any problem if it is possible. Well I donīt now but please tell me if you have more information to give. Vicke |

Digital Machinist magazine ran a series of articles where someone bought an old EMCO and pulled out all of the control electronics and put in all new stuff. It was a pretty exhausting procedure, but they ended up with a nice machine. If you have the technical skills and money that'd be your best bet. Otherwise, you're stuck in 20 year old technology. You can buy the old copies of Digital Machinist from the publisher. That'd be a good place to start, even if you don't do it, you'd learn a bunch about your machine. |

Vicke, We still make 486 motherboards. Have sold over 50K of these so far. 8 ISA and one PCI slot. Can set it up per your spec. http://www.esapcsolutions.com/ecom/m...ache-p-82.html Tony |
