7X10 to 7X14 conversion

Has anyone converted there HF 7X10 to 7X14 using the little machine shop kit? If so is there any tricks or good advise one can pass along. It does not look very hard to do, just looking for any input. Thanks in advance.

Mike

The swap is very easy to do. But the thing to consider is that each bed and headstock are matched and worked on to match at the factory. You may have an alignment issue afterwards. But some shims will do the trick.

Good luck.

The swap was easy. The whole project has taken about five hours. Drilled and tapped extra holes for the lead screw cover, control box and missing chip guard hole. Does any know where I can get a longer chip guard and lead screw cover? Or is that something I have to make my self. I am very happy with the conversion.

Yeah Richard23 I think you'd better rethink your pricing.
