A while back I saw a thread here about a CNC lathe with a stepper mounted on the tailstock to drill holes in the end of the material. Anyone have that thread saved or possibly you could point me to it? Thanks- ![]() Dave EDIT: I know there's another thread about this but I do not want to do a gang tooling idea, I'd really like to utilize the tailstock so if anyone knows of the other thread I was inquiring about, I'd appreciate it as I can't find it in the search function.

| Dave, it wouldn't be very hard, but I do have to wonder why you're so insistent on the tailstock? I'm not sure I've ever seen a commercial CNC lathe use the tailstock for anything but supporting the work. Mind you, it may still be motorized, but not in the interests of drilling. It's so easy to position the drill bit on axis (e.g. centered) and then feed with the cross slide on a CNC I just can't see why you'd do it. Even Widgitmaster seems to prefer drilling from his turret on the cross slide. Cheers, BW |
