Emi-Mec Series 2E autoturn Lathe

Is there anyone out there that is familiar with these amazing automatic turret lathes? I have one of these and was wondering where I can get seal parts for the Hydraulic over air cylinders. The cylinders themself don't have any tags as who manufactures them so I can get a cross reference rebuild kits. there is a place that I deal with but it takes too long to get the parts and I due a lot of production with this machine and can't afford to have it down for too long. Sure would like to hook up with some of our members that may have used or still have such machine. Thank you in advance for any info.

Claude

I remember working several times on EMI-MEC sprints 15 or 20 years ago

early ones with a uniselector and later ones with relays for the step
sequence switching

the limit switches and the wiring to them can be attacked by the cutting oils
watch out for the 48V DC if you touch the wiring with the power on

oil and water in the air line gums up the pneumatic valves
failing capacitors in the RC networks stop the automatic re-phasing of the
hydraulic cylinders

the cylinder in the power unit is over size so it still works with leaky
seals on the pistons

the seals have been redesigned and you could need a kit with the seal
and replacment piston

I don't know about spares in the US

but http://www.emi-mec.co.uk/
