DRO's for Mini Lathe | | Some time ago, about a year, just slow I guess, I installed the digital read outs from Micro Mark, for the cross slide on my mini , a Grizzly. At first I thought I had done it wrong. I asked Frank Hoose for advise, and he has'nt responded yet as to this date. So I took the bull by the horns, and by some miracle I found the issues. There is on the lead screw a small flange that should stop movement of the screw. It sets into a relieved area that measures on mine to be .125". The small flange on the lead screw measured in at .111 and it allowed movement of the screw to about thirteen thousands. If, this was supposed to be a direct replacement upgrade it missed the mark. So as a cation to any newbies embarking on a trip to cnc land, whenever you do anything make sure to measure all the related pieces as I am pretty sure all the import machines may have slight differences in quality assurance. |
