I am in the process of buying this lathe. The salesperson has no information about brand name other than Mini Lathe 300 and that it is a China import. It has digital read out for speed, and the controls seems to be of touch type, otherwise it seems very similar to the various mini type lathes as of Siegs production line. As I am new to both forum and this size of lathes, could anyone comment on this lathe if you have any information etc. regards Ketil Norway |

| That is a Seig lathe. Take a look at www.mini-lathe.com for comparisons between the different models. Aaron |

| Thanks for the swift reply. I have been sifting trough mini-lathe.com's many good and informative pages, including the version section and I am almost certain that my lathe is of the Sieg family, but I dont see any of the mentioned lathes with digital read out for spindle speed and touch controls for speed variation. Other information/data I have knowledge of is that the lathe has a 400w Dc motor. My mini lathe should arrive at my dorstep late next week and maybee I can find some more data of what brand or make it is. Nice to know if I should need some spareparts or upgrade type of equipment. | Hej Ketil! Your lathe is not made by Sieg, but by Real Bull. See http://www.realbull-machine.com/en/default.asp I have the same lathe excpet that mine was supplied with the tailstock from the CNC version. The accuracy test report was a big improvement upon my previous Sieg lathe. Best Mike UK |

| Hei Mike! Real Bull it is. Nice to know if some spareparts or technical info are needed. So far I am happy with my first lathe, and I am ever so slowly building up long gone (nearly gone ) skills from some 30 years ago. Regards Ketil Norway |

| Is anyone here familiar with TJL Industrial? I ran across a lathe by them while surfing and it had a nice price on it for a new mini lathe. Better than I had seen anywhere other than Homier, who will not have any available until March. This one was priced between Homier and Cummins. Anyway I have purchased it and it will be here this week if it don't get hung up in holiday traffic. My knowledge of machine work is limited to my intensive searching and surfing over the past few months. My interest was piqued when I asked a local machine shop for an estimate on a small job related to another hobby of mine. When I figured it all up, I could buy a lathe, a milling machine, and the tools and accessories needed to do the job myself at a substantial savings and have a new hobby to boot. Anyhow that is the way I got it figured. I will open a web site and post progress on the project. See you later, Bill Erwin |
