| Does anyone know the maximum inside jaw capacities of both(the 3-jaw and 4-jaw) Harbor Freight 4" self-centering chucks? The information that HF provided listed the 4" 4-jaw self-centering chuck as having a maximum inside jaw capacity of approx. 1.3" but that sounded too small to me. Is that correct? Also, any information on the 4" 3-jaw chuck from HF would be appreciated. Basically, I'm looking for a self-centering chuck to fit the asian(Seig) 7x12 mini-lathe with an inside jaw capacity of at least 1.5". Thanks for any information you can provide! Rob

| Chagrin, That's where I got my information from on the capacities and the reason that I thought the 1.3" from HF sounded low. ![]() CNCadmin, NICE forums! ![]() Been there(LMS) as well... And yes, LMS provided plenty of info on their 4" chucks. Prices were a little higher on the 4" 3-jaw than HF's and I was really interested in the self-centering 4" 4-jaw that HF has. I was wanting to make sure either of these chucks from HF would meet my requirements before I purchased one and hoped that someone who already had one could check. Thanks for any information that you or anyone else can provide on their actual capacity.Rob

| cncadmin, Have you had a chance to check the capacity on your 4" chuck yet? Is it a 3-jaw or 4-jaw? Thanks! Rob

| Thanks cnc! I was really interested though in the capacity with the jaws reversed? As long as either the 4" 4-jaw or 3-jaw will hold 1.5" dia. stock with the jaws reversed, that's all I was looking for. Is your 4-jaw self-centering or independent? Thanks again, Rob
