I need to know with hindsight what you would have done differently to come out with a better result. Also if it's not asking to much, could you desribe your set up, what steppers , drivers , breakout board , powersource , and software are you currently using. Thanks this process will help me to decide what parts to order. |

| I did mine with Acme, but am now converting to Ball screw. Toss the crappy little motor and use something with more power. Make sure you address the bed thickness before you start. TurboCNC is great. http://www.wrathall.com/Interests/interests_index.htm

| Okay here is an update, I now have the hardware from jfettig and have some 425oz 4v, 2.8 A stepper motors from Deepgroove on ebay. I plan on getting the Gecko 202 drives for them. What power supply would you run with this set up? Does anyone know a good outlet for the power supplies? Also I saw a 15 to 20 dollar range spindle tach somewhere and can't remember right now so if anybody happens to know help a brother out. Thanks for your input guys. |
