    Question AXA Series 100 users?

I just bought the AXA Series 100 quick change toolpost and I am trying to use my 1/2" boring tools and they won't fit. There appears to be a bushing in the toolholder and I am wondering if I should remove it to allow for the 1/2" tool the boring holder is suppose to use.

Are you talking about the boring bar holder?

My AXA-100 boring bar holder takes a 3/4" boring bar without a sleeve. I don't remember whether it even came with a sleeve for 1/2" bars. However, I had to really loosen the screws that clamp the boring bar in order to get it in the first time. The screw and nut both have an arc cut in them and the bottom was staying locked in place, so I had to loosen the top screw and tap on it to drive the bottom down. After that everything worked fine.

My BXA has a sleeve to adapt down from 1" to 3/4", I had to twist the sleeve so that the slot in the sleeve aligned with the tightening slot in the holder.

    Good luck,
    Alan

Thanks that was it. I just twisted the screws around and it fell right in. It was 3/4" I was talking about not 1/2". duh

    Thanks again
