no one?
I have a KDMD 240D controller and a 2.5 hp treadmill motor that I would like to use for a DC motor conversion on my 9x20 and would also like to connect it to a my PC I plan to use in my cnc conversion.
Im looking at using a CNC4PC C-41 board or a C-6 board to control from the PC to run the motor. I plan to use EMC2 or LinuxCNC or whatever its called these days to control the machine as Im currently using it to run my router and rather like it.
I will also be using the CNC4PC optical interrupter board to do spindle feedback for threading and CSS.
Anyone have any input?
Thanks

What method are you thinking of using for controlling the spindle speed and direction?
If you have a KDMD that is complete with enclosure and direction switch, you will need to reproduce the reversing switch set up with a reversing relay and ensure the I1 & I2 contacts are used as it is in the present system.
To run remote analogue input you require an isolated controller as the KDMD is at line potential and not isolated.

To be honest Im not sure.
I have a complete KBMD box, enclosure and reversing switch. Im now sure which of those boards/methods would be best for that controller.
Supposedly the CNC4PC has PWM to analogue isolation, You would also have to measure across the outer ends of the pot to make sure there is a max of 10vdc but replacing the switch will require a reversing relay with two N.C. auxilliary contacts to pick up the inhibits I1/I2.

Hey Al, Where did you find that Info? I cant find much for this box and the documentation I got with it is very limited. Thanks for your help!
What info exactly?
The manual shows how to use a reversing switch on wiring section V1(A).
You would need to duplicate this but use a relay for a reversing relay operation.

The POT would be replaced by the analogue out of the CNC4PC BOB.
