    Identify Older Mini Lathe- HF?

Hi guys! Just joined and need help identifying this mini 7x.

Current owner know nothing about it and can't find a model number anywhere on it. I may be able to pick it up for the cost of a case of beer. A renter left it behind and it's been collecting dirt and sawdust for a very long time in a storage shop.

    Any ideas?

Thanks! Looking forward to learning about these little guys!

That's the standard Seig C2 lathe, sold by Harbor Freight and others.

Everything you could possible want to know about it can be found here.

It looks well abused, but if it's yours for some beer, that's a great deal. So long as it's not really good beer.

    Thanks Frederic!

I thought it was a HF. The current owner couldn't find any markings and I couldn't match up any exact photos because of some missing parts and stickers. Seeing a C2 photo beside it makes sense now.

If I get it it will be a gamble for sure. I'm hoping it hasn't been too abused. It will need a drill chuck to start with and maybe a a new lathe chuck. It may only have 2 of the 3 jaws; 2 of the jaws are laying in the chip tray. I may may to look into a new motor. Are there brushless motors available for the C2? I'll need to dig into the mini parts sites.

Dismantling/inspecting/cleaning this machine it sure to take a full 12 pack of my my time!

    Cheers!

    Unknown maker of mini lathe

Hi, I have just dropped on this one, no ID at all anywhere. I believe its over 20 years old and the owners daughter said her dad paid £1000 for it late 90's.
Can anyone identify it please? It does say 'Made in England'. It came with loads of extras and add-ons.
The motor is just saying its specs and irrelevant stuff.

I bought the HF lathe for $59 the day after Christmas. It's the cash I had in my pocket at the time when I looked at it.
I got it home, tore it down and cleaned everything. It looks bad in the original photos because of the dust, grime and decals missing.

Now it looks pretty new because it is! This machine has never been used! Brand new brushes, no chips anywhere and it still had all of the packing cosmoline everywhere. The dings/scratches were from the previous owners moving this thing around several times. The only thing it's missing is one of it's outside jaw chucks. I'll be getting a larger lathe chuck so it's no big loss. I had to repair the carriage handwheel because the handle was broken off. So far, everything works as it should.
