HF 7x10 MiniLathe - Bar mounting

    Hi.
on the HF 7x10 Mini-Lathe, can you mount a bar through the chuck like you can on larger lathes, so that you can work on the end of a long bar?

I have some 15" long rods, that I just need to drill and tap the ends of. (But I also want an excuse to get a new toy).

Yes. The spindle has a 20mm (approx) bore. The 3" three jaw check which comes with it only has a about a 16mm bore.

Just be careful the end of a longer bar doesn't start to whip around.
Wen I was young, I spent most of my money on fast women, slow horses, and cheap booze. The rest of it I just wasted.
