I can't watch your video till I get home (youtube is blocked at work).
Just wondering why you put a 3 phase motor on such a small lathe?

well the original 300w motor and controller motor failed and was really poor, i also had lots of problems with the control and motor, poor horse power and torque so replacing like for like was not a preferred idea. additionally in the uk the cost of spares is excessive so for the same money i bought a 1/2 hp 3 phase motor and inverter.

i did it in part as an interesting project and challange and improve the performance of the machine. It also as a 0-10v input so good for cnc which i am in process of doing.

I understand... very interesting! Guess I never really thought of the mini lathe as a candidate for 3 phase, but industrial equipment generally does benefit from it.
I also understand the "interesting project" aspect of it as well. I've done a few things out of the ordinary on my conversion as well.
