Are you running the 9 pin adapters, or did you connect directly to the 15 pin on the card?

You also probably want to hit auto calibrate on your monitor if you haven't already done that.

I hooked the monitor right to the 15 pin connector on the card. I removed the screen on the CPU so I could do that. I did notice the menu button on my monitor did not work when I pushed it. I also looked at the cable and it was missing 3 pins #9,#12 and #15. I am going to get a cable tomorrow from Fry's Electronics and see if that makes a difference. The one I am testing with is too short to get to the monitor once its mounted.

Those three pins don't do anything when used for a monitor.

Is the monitor you got "multisync"?

If not, you're going to need to find a resolution that it can display that your card is set to output. It sounds like you've got it set to the wrong scan rate.

Here is fleabay #170453680765 for the monitor I bought. Did some research and its a TTL sync monitor. It works great on my PC in the house but not on the P1. Maybe my new card is not compatiable with the monitor?

It's entirely possible that the card is to blame.

Funny you mention that monitor - I've been contemplating buying one as well. lol

Right now I have the x motor giving me fits, so I've held off on screwing with the display. I can live with it not fitting in the chassis if the machine works.

I am going to get a different card from CL today and a new cable that I will be using on the P1 and Ill see what that does. I was wondering if your P1 has a tool changer? Mine does and its not working. When I give it a tool change command it just sits there and does nothing. It has something to do with the spindle orientation because its not even turning the spindle to line up with tool changer. I will get through this monitor change first before I tackle that project. Thanks for all your help!

Nope, I don't have the full-auto machine. I'm stuck doing manual changes assuming the bloody thing works when I plug everything back in.

Did your changer work and then stop working, or did you buy the machine in this condition?

I bought it not working but I thought maybe I could fix it someday but I am doing manual tool changes for now. I got the monitor installed today and it works great. I do not know how I fixed the monitor from flickering and missing some of the top of the page but it works now. I did not buy a new card I am still using the Cirrus card. Heres a pic of what the monitor looks like installed. You said you were thinking of getting one of these monitors on ebay.Again thanks for the help.

That looks pretty slick.

My 15" monitor will have to be offset quite a bit to clear the function keys, but for now I think I'm just going to run with it.

You might want to see how hard it would be to pull the screen from the enclosure and mount it in the original hole. The buttons could be stuffed in the cabinet (not like the monitor needs adjusting much once set).
