    CNC Halted: error 162

I was writing a program in conv. and the machine just shut down. when it shut down it gave a "cnc halted: error 162" It would not power back up, kept saying bad path. I reloaded the parameters disk and it would then boot up again. I can home it and move the axis. When I go to "prgrm" and try to pull up a program number or the menu it says error 162 hardware failure. and if you try to create a new progrm it shuts down. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would like to get it running this weekend cause I have some parts to try and finish

According to my Centurion 6 manual Error 162 is:
“Improper Format on floppy disk. Try another disk or try reformatting the same disk. Verify that floppy cables are properly connected.”

I have seen this when I had a bad floppy disk but it didn’t shut the machine down. Check the cables would be my only other suggestion.
