I need help getting my RW15 back to life, I have just under 1000 hours since new, just over 2 years old. The coolant pump has been intermitent for well over a year , I dropped the ball and didnt have it replaced while in warranty and now its dead. Powered the machine down friday about 12: , turned it on this afternoon , Sunday about 6 pm planning on working for 4-5 hours When I home the machine I get an error message 407 x axis excess error. The z and y axis both home as they should but the x axis does not move, the on screen display counts up but since the table isnt moving it faults. The x axis is hard up against a limit swithc and I cannot seem to resett the controller with out shutting down and restarting. Is there some way to overide and possibly jog off the limit switch ? Machine was working fine 2 days ago, has been powered down and x axis is dead, what should I look for , magic reset button on a servo amp? I just cant figure what could have gone wrong while the machine was off. Any help appreciated, This thing needs to run tonight as I have a critical deadline to meet |

I just got the machine to at least think its homed , although the table is still all the way to the right side of the machine , aprox 20" from the home switch, I can go into handwheel jog and move the machine thru the full range in y and z axis but not X. The x axis will move .4550" off the limit switch and will not travel any further , almost as if some setting for soft limits has been corrupted.

well when I attempt to home the z and y axis move in the correct direction , hit the home switches and zero. The x axis read out says its at zero and moves in the negative direction , tabble moves to the right until it hits the limit switch and machine faults . The two times its said the x axis was homed it does so aprox 1/2" from the limit with the table fully to the right , x in the farhtest negative position. Milltronics apparently does not have an after hours service number as other machine manufacturers do and both numbers for my dealer and the service guys cell number all ring as disconnected with no forwarding number . It appears the problem might be software related.

I have been reading thru every manual, looking at every possible setting and farting around with this machine for just short of 8 hours, I have my largest customer due here in about 6 hours and I can for the life of me figure out how in the hell to correct the problem with this machine . I am beyond disapointed that a company who sells machinery thats more often than not put into facilities that work 2 and 3 shifts does not have any avail phone service or tech person except during the week. I wish Milltronics would have a service line (read voice mail) avail that forwards a message to a tech during off hours. Some of us work 7 days a week , 15 hour days and expect ... . Rant off, just P.O. I cant get a call back from either the manufacturer or the dealer until after I possibly loose a customer

Check out the difference between hard and soft limits. Some machines have 2 limit switches, the first one homes in conjuction with the encoder, and the last one being a safety limit. This last one shoud never be actuated in normal operation. It sounds like the machine jumped past this switch. Some machines can have their axis moved by force when off. Try pushing the axis by hand into the normal operating range. Also consider a bad switch.

Wont move when off , 10 am , havent heard from milltronics or the dealer . Customer just left , didnt meet our deadline thanks to the machine taking a dump yesterday , lost the job , Sent everybody home for the day while I regroup . Just dont understand how this happened while the machine was powered down.
