What kind of 'Custom' motor? if DC Brushed, What make CNC controller & drive?
If it is the encoder, you do not need the motor rebuilt.

I guess we need our z motor rebuilt.It is a custom servo motor.The z works fine at lower feed rates,but runs away at higher rates.we think the encoder is bad.Hell we are not sure...Help

It is a cent 5 control.The motor is a MPM11405-706.I think it is brushless.

The axis motor that you have is a Custom Servo Motors manufactured motor. It is not a dc motor, its an ac brushless. I have had motors repaired and rebuilt by a company called MTS. Their phone number is 507.354.1616.
